Do I really have to tag all my personal posts with “don’t reblog” or something stupid like that?
Can people just learn that it shouldn’t be okay to just take something very personal and repost it like they completely 100% understand? Because even if you’re feeling the same way you are not, and will never be 100% behind everything I’m saying. Our experiences are not the same.
And frankly, in regards to my own situation, I don’t care if you’re feeling the same way. I don’t give a flying fuck that you’re also lonely, or that you, too are having some sort of existential crisis. I don’t write about my problems so you can inform me that you’re having the same ones. It’s hard to explain. If I know you, then of course I care about you. I just don’t care that someone else (you or anyone) is feeling “exactly” the same way I’m feeling and is telling the world by just clicking one simple word “reblog”. It doesn’t help you or me.
STOP using other people’s words to express yourself. This I realize is very hypocritical of me to say considering this is pretty much what we do when we read books or listen to music. But this blog is not a song for you to sing in the shower and it’s not a book for you to take your yearbook quote from. My point is, these are my words and I don’t fucking want them anywhere else but here. And while it may seem like a minuscule thing to be extremely upset about to you, it sure as hell isn’t to me. I want people to read them, and I want people to relate to them. But if you feel similar to the way I do, then use your words to express that, not mine.
This would be a hell of a lot easier if Tumblr would come up with some sort of thing you could check off that says “don’t make rebloggable” or something.
